Some items in our collection such as our swimwear range cannot be manufactured and be fit for purpose using natural fibres. Polyester which is made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and is the most common type of plastic in the world,  is a big challenge to the fashion industry and the environment.

For our swimwear range we have used recycled polyester (rPET) which is made by melting down existing plastic and re-spinning it into new polyester fabrics.

Recycled Polyester is as durable and good as the virgin polyester and keeps plastics from going into our oceans or landfills โ€“ at the moment there are an estimated 150 million metric tons of plastics in our oceans and every year we add an additional 8 million metric tons to the oceans. Itโ€™s also estimated that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish!

We are working with our partners to find an even more eco-friendly fabric than rPET. Myko Kids, through its carbon neutral offsetting programme assists with cleaning of our oceans and preventing plastics entering them.
